This article was published in March 2022 and reviews the performance of wealth managers in 2021 and before. In the meantime, the article on Best Wealth Managers 2025 has been published, in which the performance up to and including 2024 is discussed.
Every year firstfive and BILANZ magazine select the best wealth managers in Switzerland. In contrast to other rankings, this is purely based on facts and figures. There is no room for biased reviews or good ratings for those who book an advertisement. Unfortunately, most ratings in the wealth management industry are for sale.
How is the Performance Assessed?
The BILANZ ranking evaluates real performance data that is achieved for clients in exactly the same way. The evaluations come from firstfive AG in Frankfurt, which is represented in Switzerland by FinGuide. firstfive keeps the real client portfolios in parallel with all transactions and thus creates the basis for fair comparisons of various key figures. The Sharpe-Ratio, which quantifies the ratio of return achieved to risk taken, is at the forefront of the BILANZ ratings. Wealth managers who have achieved the highest Sharpe-ratios in investment strategies with different degrees of risk over a certain period (1, 2, 3, 5 years) are honored.
The selection of the wealth managers portrayed in BILANZ is the responsibility of the editors; firstfive and FinGuide have no influence on this.
